3 hours kitesurfing a day just not enough?
All too often you'll have a problem with the lines, or the wind will drop just at the wrong time, or the kite gets a puncture. Add to this the set up and pack down time and the time it takes you to get to and from the location and you can end up wasting tons of time and effort and taking forever to learn to kitesurf. It goes without saying that learning to kitesurf like this can be a long and frustrating process, which is why we've developed our Unlimited Hours Instruction system. Longer at the beach each day and much more time on the kite guarantees that you learn much, much quicker than with a conventional 3 - 4 hour course and that even if we do have the occasional glitch or the wind decides to drop for a while, it's no problem as we literally have all day!
No Time Limit Means No Stress
We often have students come to us after taking a traditional 3 hour lesson telling us how one of their fellow students had a problem with the kite and sorting it out took the instructor an hour while they were expected to simply sit and watch with the clock ticking away. Or they were paired up with someone who just didn't get it and who, because of this, took up all the time on the kite, leaving them having done one run for 5 mins and then they were expected to pay for the full lesson. The other problem we often hear about is that students were just about to crack a move they'd been trying all day when the clock ticked over, the instructor called time and they had to come back tomorrow even though the wind was absolutely perfect right then. Because other kitesurf schools often have 2 or 3 lessons running every day, students often have to fit around the kite schools schedules with lessons being organised at times where there's no wind just so the school can make its money, giving you a 3 hour lesson in which you learn nothing as there's no wind. At Tantrum Kitesurf we only give one lesson a day...yours, so you can be guaranteed we'll be at the beach when the wind is best for you.
Saves You Time and Money
This method of kitesurf instruction ends up saving you time and money in the long run. Rather than having to spend time organising lessons each week, wasting money and time driving to the location, praying for the right wind and that you haven't forgotten everything you learned last time. Instead you can learn to kitesurf in one week, with everything taken care of, with the certainty that you'll crack it in one week - you'll ultimately learn to kitesurf quicker, cheaper and with a lot less frustration than would be possible otherwise. This means you've got more money to spend on your first kitesurfing holiday and much more time to plan it!

Over 7 years we have refined our teaching methodology and have come up with a system, that rapidly improves learning time and has the potential to get you up and on the board, much quicker (how does in 1 day sound?) than with a conventional course.
This way you then have the rest of the week to refine your skills and by the time you leave us it's possible for you to be riding upwind and practicing your first jumps. Something that normally takes months.
It also means that when we do come to teach you the slightly less glamorous stuff (like safety and upwind body dragging) you really pay attention as it is really relevent to you as a kitesurfer. Rather than listening to an instructor give you a 2 hour safety brief on your first day before you've even touched a kite, we generate the excitement first (in a safe enviroment) by getting you riding and then cover the essentials at a time when you are hungry to learn them. Meaning that when you do need to use these skills you can remember and use them.
This incredibly rapid rate of learning is made possible by 2 factors, which seperate us from every other kite school on the planet, our highly advanced teaching methodologies and our Unlimited Hours format, so as long as there is wind and you have the energy, we'll be at the beach getting you on the board.
Flat Water
Now Tarifa isn't known as a flat water spot but we've been here long enough to find the few locations where for most of the season and in the right conditions we can teach you in one of several flat water lagoons. Over the summer months we have access to a safety boat which means we can teach off the main town beach where the water can be perfectly flat. This gives you that extra bit of help when trying to master the water start and can make all the difference when your trying to stand up on the board for the first time.
Total Kitesurfing Freedom along the Tarifa coast
Not coming to Tarifa during the summer? Don't worry, for the rest of the year we have absolute freedom to use all the beaches up and down the coast. This means that whatever the wind's doing we can get you to somewhere where you can get out. Many of these beaches have little used, flat water, shallow lagoons which you can learn in, which are absolutley perfect for mastering the waterstart and getting confident riding before setting sail on the open ocean.
Wind and Weather
Tarifa is known as the wind capital of Europe for good reason. With over 300 days a year of kitesurf-able wind and even more days of sunshine you're pretty much guaranteed to catch the wind here what ever time of year you come.
Full Service Kite Lessons - Accommodation, Airport Transfers and FREE Daily Beach Transfers
We don't just sort out your kitesurfing lessons, we organise your whole trip. We'll sort your accommodation out for you, pick you up from the airport, (there is a small charge for this but it works out about half the price of a taxi and 3 times faster than taking a bus), check you in, take you to and from the beach each day and even come out for a few beers in the evening, so all you have to worry about is the kite.
No Wind And You Don't Pay!
If for whatever reason there is no wind, you don't pay...simple. But there's plenty of other stuff to do in Tarifa to keep you entertained.
Our Instructors are Paid for your Progress
We are the only kitesurf school (as far as we know in the world) that pays our instructors a bonus depending on how far you progress in the week. That means it is in their interest that you progress as fast and as far as is possible. They're here for one thing, and one thing only...to get you riding (and to make sure you have an amazing time doing it!).
IKO Certification Included in the Price
At the end of your course you will receive the official IKO kiteboarder certification so you can prove your level should you wish to hire kit or continue your lessons elsewhere.
