Sam Guest is the owner and Chief Instructor of Tantrum Kitesurf. Since leaving his job as an officer in the Royal Marines (don't worry I'm really not the shouty type!) he has embarked upon a career devoted to watersports and the psychology of teaching. He spent 3 years teaching windsurfing and sailing all over Europe, during this time he worked as Chief Instructor of a major watersports centre in France. Arriving in Tarifa one winter he took up kitesurfing and has never looked back. During his time here he has co-founded a company running 4x4 kitesurf adventures to Morocco and has been teaching kitesurfing for 5 years as a fully qualified IKO instructor, almost exclusively on the beaches of Tarifa and the Costa de la Luz. Sam is an expert on the topic of training and human communication, kitesurfing instruction and kite adventures having written articles for The Gibraltar Magazine, Toxic Magazine and Liquid Magazine he is also an expert author on ezine and maintains several highly respected blogs on kitesurfing and kitesurfing instruction.
Anya has been boardriding since her early days. As a teenager growing up the Czech Republic she developed her skills as a semi professional snowboarder, when she moved to Fuerteventura she taught herself to surf and was a regular in the line up on the local beaches, since moving to Tarifa and learning to kite 3 years ago she has pushed herself hard and recently gained her instructors qualification here in Tarifa. A favourite around town she'll make your kiting day all the more enjoyable with her big personality and infectious laugh!
Matt is our local pro rider, being recently signed up by the Spanish Liquid Force team having cut his teeth in Cabarete he is now making an impact on the Tarifa scene. Recognisable by his trademark wake style boots and the real love of his life (sorry girls!) "The Red Stripe" (its a van!) he'll be the one on the water way after every one else has given up and hit the pub...though he'll definitely be along later!!
Possibly the bravest (or stupidest!) of the team, Dan started to kitesurf in the icy waters of Scotland 6 years ago. Since then he has progressed through the various disciplines kitesurfing has to offer and has finally settled on wave riding on his (always shiny new) surf board. He'll talk to you for hours about wave riding, wind theory or anything else but will always be ready with an easy smile and a real pearl of wisdom about what you need to do to progress to that next level.
